Epson WorkForce WF-3520 Wireless All-in-One Printer

Epson claims this new model of theirs, the WF-3520 of the WorkForce series, to be the world’s faster MFP (multi-function printer), at least in its time of release if you would argue. As for me, I would respectfully agree to the claim, but not totally agree to its set of features or specs that we will be dealing with today. At $149, the Epson WorkForce WF-3520 is very affordable in its class with all the goodness it promises: with a touch screen LCD panel, extra holding tray, borderless printing, and decent output, how would you like a business-class printer with wireless printing features as well?

A bit bigger to its kin within its class, the WF-3520 has a lot of things to say on its own aside from sharing a lot as well. Bodied in a very strong plastic body, the WF-3520 which measures 17.7x22x9.6” (WDH setup for printing) looks and sits firm and steady wherever it is placed, though you won’t like changing its location day after day with its weight of 19.8lbs. However, within that same compact body, the WF-3520 looked very modern with all the parts laid out properly, not to mention the control panel with a lot of capacitive buttons and a 2.5-inch touch LCD on it. With the said control panel, the only problem one may have is that its angle does not adjust to fit to user’s level.

Other than this, the Epson WorkForce WF-3520 also features a full-packed basked of capabilities like printing, copying, scanning and even faxing. What’s better than these is that there’s the well-sought auto-duplexing feature which largely aids users especially in scanning double-sided pages, copying them, and even printing two-sided outputs. Above also the scanbed comes the automatic document feeder, wherein in this model, is capable of holding 25sheets of paper. This may not be really enough for highly demanding office situations, but it is a whole way lot better than not having one. Furthermore, the input tray can hold half a ream of paper, that is, 250sheets, and there’s a rear input tray for card stock and any other specialty papers, though it can only hold one piece at a time.

As for its main feature, the Epson WorkForce WF-3520 is capable of printing mono and colored outputs in no time. I am pretty impressed with the speed of the printing, and as company claimed, the WF-3520 is capable of 15ppm for black and 9.3ppm for color, and that’s just for one-sided printing. As for the double-sided printing, the WF-3520 is good with 7.4ppm for mono and for colored, 5.4ppm, all under ISO measures. The WF-3520 is relatively faster than laser printers, not to mention how it is a way lot better to have four individual cartridges rather than a costly toner bank. Printing quality is at par for business use, borderless printing uncompromised, photo printing is good for home and school use only, but in general, the WF-3520 is capable of giving good outputs, but not the best ones you’d call ‘perfect.’

For such a compact-bodied printer, the Epson WorkForce WF-3520 is capable of printing out papers with the maximum size of 8.5×44”. This said, expect that you can print, scan, and copy files of up to legal-sized papers, and that implies A4, letter, and other covered sizes as well. As for the scanner, it is pretty impressive that the WF-3520 can do a lot better because of the scanner’s optical resolution of 2400dpi (9600dpi interpolated), and that’s a lot better than some MFPs in its class. Ultimately, the WF-3520 also features both wired (via Ethernet or USB) and wireless printing features, such as Epson Connect, AirPrint of Apple, and Google CloudPrint, all within the power of Wi-Fi the printer has in-built.

For its class and for such a low price, the Epson WorkForce WF-3520 is really a highly functional and productive printer every office business should have. Though it is not really designed for photo printing, the WF-3520 is pretty impressive in its speed and reliability with almost all printing needs it covers, thus making it one of the best options you can always have and rely on.
