Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Android Tablet Price in Singapore, Features, and Specs

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Android Tablet Price in Singapore, Features, and Specs: When a certain well-known brand releases a newer version of a well-known gadget, people expect it to be better than the original. However, with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, that is not entirely the case. In fact, it has left us wondering why they even released a Galaxy Tab 2 when almost all of its specs are exactly the same as its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Much more, in my opinion, it took a step back when the whole thing became thicker and heavier than the original. This might just be Samsung’s way of breaking into the mid-range market, but will it be enough to compete with the mid-range giants like Asus and Acer? Well, let’s go and see for ourselves.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, as mentioned earlier, is not that different from the original 10.1. They both have the 10-inch screen with the 1280 x 800 PLS display. They also both have dual-core processor that actually is not saying much. A lot of people have complained that there is a bit of a lag when playing games and a bit of blur when doing fast-paced action. However, most of the time, the touch screen is pretty responsive.

The battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is not something to be impressed with. It lasts only 8 hours and 56 minutes. This is nothing compared to the other mid-range tablets that are now out in the market. For one thing, the battery life of the Acer Iconia Tab A510 lasts for 10 hours and 23 minutes. The battery life of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime could last for 16 hours and 34 minutes when placed on its keyboard dock.

The way I see it, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is a watered down version of the original 10.1, and once something goes into budget production, a certain feature has to be sacrificed. Most of the time, that would be the camera. To say that the camera of the Galaxy Tab 2 is passable would be considered as high praise. In this day and age of multiple pixels and HD photos, the picture quality of this gadget is dismal. I’d rather go with a good camera-phone.

To say the least, Samsung may have made a mistake by mass-producing the Galaxy Tab 2. In the first place, I could see no great difference between the original version and this one. Another thing is that they may have slashed down the price, but other mid-range tablet computer brands have done so as well – and they have far more superior features. Needless to say, I am not impressed. In fact, I view it as a failed project. However, Samsung has released multiple impressive gadgets, so let’s give them a break. Somewhere in the future, they may just release a tablet computer that puts all other tablet computers to shame. If I had $400 though, I would not be investing it on this one. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is only getting 2 out of 5 stars rating in my book.
