Sony VAIO T13 Ultrabook Price in Singapore, Features, and Tech Specs

Sony VAIO T13 Ultrabook Price in Singapore, Features, and Tech Specs: The VAIO T13 is the latest ultrabook announced by Sony, falling under the company’s VAIO T series umbrella. The units are expected to ship out into the raging waters for the ultrabook by June this year. It is expected to come in direct rivalry with the MacBook Air, HP Folio 13, as well as Dell XPS 13. The VAIO T13 after all is an elegant looking ultrabook, lightweight and fast, and built into a high power and efficient package. Basically, it suits all the great qualities of an ultra-portable laptop computer, while at the same time not leaving its users for want of power on the go. It also has a rather slick body and has a sharp looking finish. In addition to its slickness and power, the ultrabook is also surprisingly affordable.

Physically, the Sony VAIO T13 is housed in a magnesium alloy chassis that contributes a lot to its lightness and durability. The brushed metal finish is also very elegant, and challenges head on with that of the MacBook Air. However, like many other ultrabooks currently in the market, the T13 suffers for lack of ports, especially USB ports that are the ones that people use more often. On the left of the Sony VAIO T13 are a couple of USB ports consisting of one standard USB v 2.0 port while the other is a faster USB v 3.0. On the right edge are ports for a VGA output, an HDMI port, Ethernet port, and a standard 3.5 mm jack. The device measures only 17.8 mm at its widest point making it one of the slimmest in the market. It also only weighs just 1.6kg, including the battery. Overall, it has dimensions of 226 x 17.8 x 323 mm, making it beautifully compact and very portable.

The Sony VAIO T13 has a so-called Rapid Wake function that allows the screen to switch on and be ready as the user opens the lid, this without so much a hint for a delay. On the other hand, when the lid is closed, the Eco mode on the T13 enables it to go into a sort of sleep that will last for up to 90 days before the battery runs out. Aside from this, the T13 also features a large, button-free touchpad, which is designed to enable the user to navigate around the ultrabooks interface easily by having multi-finger options like scrolling and pinch zoom. The ultrabook also comes with a set of decent speakers that are invisible from the outside but are able to pump good and decent sounds from various spots in the chassis. The ultrabook also has an ‘any time’ charger feature that enables the user to plug his or her smartphone in even while the ultrabook is in sleep mode or turned off.

The Sony VAIO T13 laptop computer offers a 13-inch LCD display that makes use of LED technology. The panel is able to deliver an amazing resolution of up to 1,366 x 768 pixels. It stays bright and sharp even under dim light or subdued light surroundings. Viewing angles are quite impressive too and the colors are rich and more or less intact even under different lights. This is because the panel is also imbued with Sony’s xLOUD and Clear Phase technologies.

The Sony VAIO T13 uses a hybrid system consisting of an Intel Core i3 Ultra Low Voltage processor that supports Sandy Bridge. Sony also hasn’t confirmed yet if it is going to release an Ivy Bridge variant of the ultrabook but spectators are already bracing for one. The T13 also comes with up to 320GB of HDD and 32GB of SSD, the latter enables the aforementioned Rapid Wake feature as well as a feature called Intel Smart Response Technology. The T13 also comes with 4 GB worth of DDR3 RAM, which is more than enough for day-to-day multitasking chores. Unfortunately enough, the VAIO T13 lacks a dedicated graphics card so hardcore gaming and especially 3D gaming on the ultrabook can be quite a drag. Graphics is taken cared of by the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 chip.
