Samsung Galaxy S3 Price in Singapore, Features, and Tech Specs

Samsung Galaxy S3 Price in Singapore, Features, and Tech Specs: Touted as one of the hottest smartphones to be released this month, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a smartphone that is said to exceed expectations. It is the official phone for the 2012 Summer Olympics and sales are expected to skyrocket to the moon. Tens of millions of units are expected to be sold this 2012, but would the S3 really stun consumers or is it just over publicized?

Already been labeled as the iPhone killer, the Samsung Galaxy S3’s specs are something worth taking a second look at. Packed with a Super AMOLED 4.8-inch HD screen, it’s a great surprise that they were able to fit it into its 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm body. The screen is beautiful, with its 309ppi density that is almost equal to the iPhone 4S. The colors are also easier on the eyes as well. The brains behind the smartphones of Samsung did a little tweaking, thus color saturation is not as harsh as before. Though weighing at 133g, it feels very light. I actually like my phone to have a bit of weight on it because it equates it with sturdiness. However, if we only use the feel of a phone as a basis for its sturdiness, then the Samsung Galaxy S2 should not have made as much waves as it had.

I love the whole Nature theme that the Samsung Galaxy S3 has gone into. The TouchWiz UI has become more interactive than ever, giving you a ripple effect and a little water drop sound when unlocking the screen. Transitions are seamless and there is no lag time observed. I also like the fact that the little dock at the bottom has been expanded to five favorite items, as opposed the S2’s four.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has the Smart Stay mechanism to help prevent your battery from drying out due to the power requirement of its ultra-powerful quad-core, 1.4 GHz Exynos processor. It functions by tracking eye movement. Once the camera detects the user to be looking at his phone, lights would turn on, and it would subsequently dim once the camera detects the user’s eyes moving away. It is still in its very new state and a few adjustments still has to be made. The Smart Stay is an innovative technology that once perfected, would cement Samsung to the top of the mobile phone hierarchy. It also has the S Voice feature that can be likened Vlingo of the Galaxy S2. However, Vlingo was not as effective and we are hoping that the S Voice would be a definite improvement.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with Android’s latest Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Its rear camera captures pictures at 8 megapixels while its front camera comes with 1.9 megapixels and “intelligent camera features” like the Smart Stay that was mentioned earlier. Other notable features would be its wireless charger, but is optional and would be sold separately.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to be out on the market by the end of May this year. This is one smartphone that I am very excited to see.
