Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR Digital Camera Price in Singapore, Features, and Other Info

Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR Digital Camera Price in Singapore, Features, and Other Info: Fujifilm has just released its latest travel zoom camera, the FinePix F770EXR, an upgrade of last year’s F series models, and something that sits on top of them all. It features a 20x zoom lens with a wide focal range of 25-500 mm, which is accompanied by a digital zoom capability that stretches its telephoto range to up to 40x. It uses an updated 1/2 inch 16-megapixel sensor and has a fast auto focusing system. Moreover, it is capable of taking videos at full 1080p, has a built-in enhanced GPS system, sports a high contrast 3-inch LCD screen, and a continuous shooting mode of 8 frames per second.

Design-wise, the Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR sports a quality looking chassis that has none of the hollowness and sticking buttons that would have otherwise made it look cheap. It looks and feels the way a camera at a high price point should look, with its monochromatic body making it professional looking but very simple. It has no frills or flashiness, which doesn’t make it a lifestyle camera although the unit does come in black, red, blue or white. However, it has a somewhat nontraditional feature in that it contains a rounded hump on top signifying its enhanced GPS capability and a prominent rubber grip on the front for easier hold. In fact, there are one too many of these bumps and humps on the unit, unlike other sophisticated pocket cameras that went for minimalism and sleek body design.

Because of that, the Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR looks bulkier than many but it is still smooth looking despite being a little cumbersome. On the back of the F770 is a mode dial and another one at the lower right hand corner. There are also dedicated controls for playback, movie capture, display, and function. The top plate holds the power button, and another function button. The flash button is a little oddly placed at the left hand side of the camera, which makes it a little hard to spot and access.

User interface navigation with the Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR is unfortunately quite technical to suit the tastes of ordinary consumers, the main market of the device. In fact, it’s quite complicated and would put the user through what seems to be a never-ending sequence of options and menus. The camera however offers a lot of manual and preset modes, but it would take quite some time before the user can realize these.

In terms of features, the Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR can be quite double-sided: it can be feature-packed but at the same time very simple. In-camera options are relatively toned down, but in terms of specific functions, it comes with surprisingly wide options thanks to its sophisticated hardware. There are some simple manual options like exposure, white balance, and saturation controls. However, when it comes to its zoom capabilities, Fujifilm didn’t hold back. As mentioned, the camera does impressively well at 20x zoom, has even a speedy autofocus system, and a quality image stabilization. The camera is also accompanied by map viewer software that travelers who are fond of using GPS might find handy.

Performance-wise, the Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR does very admirably compared to many of the current point and shoot cameras. It has virtually no lags, powering it up only takes a fraction of a second, and playing back both movie and pictures is as smooth as it can get. However, between the built-in modes and what the user can get through manually manipulating the settings, he or she will be better off with the latter. Except of course for that fact that the camera’s interface is hard to handle. Images are generally sharp though, with good detailing and are relatively blur-free. Videos are also great and smooth.

Overall, the Fujifilm Finepix F770EXR has few disadvantages to speak off, and except for its rather excessive price, it is highly recommended as any other deserving gadget.
