Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Laptop Computer Price in Singapore, Features, and Specs

Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Laptop Computer Price in Singapore, Features, and Specs: ThinkPad X220 comes from Lenovo’s long line of laptop computers that are lightweight, very portable, and have long-lasting battery life. It offers a couple of new features in addition to the usual specs of a ThinkPad. Among these is a screen that has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and an Intel 2nd Generation Core processor. It also has a textured clickpad.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 looks like all other ThinkPad devices out there, up to the rubberized lid and the metallic Lenovo logo on the front. It is raven-black at the sides, at the bottom, and even on the deck. There is a TrackPoint in the middle of the keyboard that is red, and it has an Enter key that is blue in color. There is no latch on the lid, a minor deviation from the unique aesthetic of other ThinkPads.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is extremely light and thin with a dimension of 12 x 9.1 x 1.25 inches and weighs 3.6 pounds, including its excellent 9-cell battery. The battery comes with a standard six-cell that takes around 1-inch of the girth of the device and 0.2 pounds of its weight. There is an optional power slice that can attach to the bottom of the gadget and add 0.6 to its thickness and 1.5 pounds to the weight. Another good thing about the X220 is that, even if the system houses an advanced processor, the company still manages to keep it cool.

The keyboard of the Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is very tactile, with concave keys, and nice click. The keyboard allows for an accurate and quick touch-typing. Like all other Lenovo ThinkPads, the system features an enlarged Esc and Delete key. It also has the full array of extended keys such as Scroll Lock and Pause that are a good because these provide for a more convenient usage of the keyboard. Be warned though that the palmrest may be too short for one’s convenience and may thus be quite uncomfortable when typing for prolonged periods.

The TrackPoint of the Lenovo ThinkPad X220 on the other hand is precise. It can be used to accurately and conveniently navigate around the display. Alternatively, the device also sports a 3 x 1.75-inch touchpad that can be used instead of the TrackPoint for navigating. The touchpad is buttonless but is still accurate and comfortable on the fingers. It is also capable of multitouch inputs as well as a very convenient edge scrolling. Still, the pad may be too sensitive specially when the TrackPoint is used and the palm accidently brushed up with the touchpad.

Connectivity wise, the Lenovo ThinkPad X220 houses several ports, surprisingly so because it is small and thin. On the right is an SD card reader, an Ethernet port, an audio jack, and a powered USB connection where other devices can be plugged and charged even while the notebook is off. The left side houses the VGA port, the display port, two USB ports, and a rare ExpressCard/54 slot.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 sports a 12.5-inch matte display that has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The screen is amazing, and offers a bright and sharp image reproduction. The viewing angles are also excellent, and covers both horizontal and vertical angles without significant loss in color fidelity. Stereo system on the other hand may not be ideal for home entertainment, but it is otherwise loud and has good reproduction.

In addition, the Lenovo ThinkPad X220 features a 720p webcam, which can support Skype HD calls. The camera can also be used for conference calling, and there is a row of buttons on the upper left side of the deck that augment this function. These buttons quickly allow the user to raise and lower the volume or mute or unmute the microphone. There is also a keystroke noise suppression that helps minimize the sound of typing during video conferencing.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 uses a 2.5-GHz Core i5-2520M CPU that can handle some of the most demanding tasks. It has a 320GB, 7,200-rpm Hitachi hard drive that has been loaded with 64-bit Windows 7 (Professional Edition) operating system. It also uses an integrated Intel HD graphics chip that can handle playing 1080p videos quite well in addition to most tasks, but probably not the latest 3D games.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 overall is a great laptop computer and one that is worthy of consideration for business purposes.
