Nikon Coolpix P310 Digital Camera Price in Singapore, Features, and Other Details

Nikon Coolpix P310 Digital Camera Price in Singapore, Features, and Other Details: Photography has always been the most popular way to preserve memories of the past. A picture could speak a thousand words and could evoke numerous emotions from the person viewing the photograph. In the olden days, it was called daguerreotype, and it would take too long before one can view the finished product. Now, with the advent of technology and digital cameras, you could immediately view your picture – and delete it if you don’t like what you see. Even film cameras don’t have that option.

At the forefront of digital camera technology would be Nikon. Nikon has been one of the leaders when it comes to digital camera technology. It is usually always up with other well-known brands like Canon and Pentax. Nikon’s selling point is its affordability. A lot of novice photographers would usually start off with a Nikon camera since it is not as expensive as the other two.

Nikon first released the Coolpix P300 back in the first quarter of 2011, but for some reason, the general public did not seem too keen with it, thus it wasn’t that popular. It was supposed to be the direct competitor of the Canon PowerShot S100, but it failed in that aspect. Come 2012, they made slight changes to the old P300, and the Nikon Coolpix P310 was created. However, when they say slight changes, they really meant it. The only significant difference I can tell is that they raised the image quality from 12.2 megapixels to an astounding 16.1. It’s a good thing they retained the f1.8 aperture for without it, the P310 would just be any other point and shoot camera in the market.

A lot of camera enthusiasts did not take too kindly with the Nikon Coolpix P310. There is nothing really special about it. The way I see it, it is just a P300 with a slightly better image quality. The body is encased in black, as is customary with almost all Nikon cameras, be it D-SLRs or point and shoots. There have been rumors that a white version was seen in showrooms, but I guess it is yet to hit the market. The design is minimalistic, almost Spartan in fact. The neatness of the camera actually has a bit of an appeal, but a lot of people may find it a bit boring.

At the back of the Nikon Coolpix P310, you can find the display button, the record button, the menu button and the delete button. You would also find the navigator button there. On top of the chassis, you would see the dial for different modes, the on and off button, the zoom, and the shutter button. On the left side, you would see a button for the manual pop-up flash. Off to the right, you would see an HDMI port, which is really convenient since you get to watch the movies you’ve shot, directly on to your HDTVs. At the bottom of the Nikon Coolpix P310, you would see an AV port and a USB port, as well as the SD card slot. This also doubles as the charging socket. They have also added a function button in front.

The makers behind the Nikon Coolpix P310 are extremely pleased with the little updates they have added. They made mention of an advanced lens vibration system and a back-illuminated CMOS sensor. This would most definitely give your pictures a big boost when it comes to brightness and quality. They have also mentioned that the Nikon Coolpix P310 has been designed to take better pictures in low light as compared to most cameras.

The Nikon Coolpix P310 retails for $330 in the United States. As with its predecessor, the P300, it is still one step behind the Canon S100. For those that are not too picky with their cameras, this might make a good choice. The wide aperture is not bad and the 16.1 megapixel picture quality does not hurt either.
