Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio Price in Singapore, Features, and Other Details

Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio Price in Singapore, Features, and Other Details: Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio is an over-ear design headphone from the Monster Cable company made in collaboration with the rap / hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre. The headphones are marketed as High Definition Powered Isolation Headphones that can accurately reproduce the sounds that an artist makes inside a studio. The Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio houses precision-engineered speakers and feature an advanced foldable design. It has powered amplification that emphasizes sound quality as well as noise cancellation capabilities. In other words, it is a typical Monster Cable creation – a well-known, high quality brand in the vast field of consumer electronics industry.

Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio has the bulkiest form among its over-ear headphones bunch, and subsequent designs of Monster Beats seemed to have downsized from the Studio. It arrives with its own Monster Cable default box with a black sleeve that slides off to uncover an orange sealable box. Beats Studio comes with its own sets of cables, adapters, and batteries.

One disadvantage of using Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio is that it cannot be used without batteries. Sadly, the batteries are needed to power both the amplification and noise cancellation features, without which Beats Studio wouldn’t be Beats Studio. The two AAA batteries needed are installed on the left earphone while the power switch and the indicator light are on the right earphone. The right earphone can also be pushed like a button and serves as a mute control. The batteries typically last 2 weeks with active use and about a month for moderate consumption so it is a good advice to switch off the headphones when not in use to avoid changing batteries once every month.

The package of Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio contains two adapters. The first one functions for converting the 3.5 mm mini-jack to a 0.25-inch TRS connector and the second one is a dual-prong airplane audio adapter. There are also two 4.26 feet mini-jack cables – a red and black one. As with the other Monster Beats over-ear headphones, Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio headphones connect to a detachable cable via the mini-jack port. This is actually an advantage because the cables are easily replaceable – there are spare cables for the Beats that are sold separately – unlike the permanent ones that you’d have to replace the whole headphone for once the cables wear off.

Cable tear wouldn’t be that much of a problem though because the Beats cables are generally thick, tangle-free, and sturdy. The red cable is a continuous cable while the black one has an added functionality. The black cable which is called the iSoniTalk cable is compatible with iPhones / iTouch and the newest sixth generation iPod class. However, it doesn’t have a volume rocker hence it will not be compatible with the third generation iPod shuffle. It has an inline microphone and physical buttons and can also be connected to a MacBook and can play from iTunes.

The Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio headphones themselves come off folded inside a black hard shell case with a soft interior, not like the soft cushioned case that the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD comes with. The right and left phones are cushioned with a thick soft material that is comfortable to the ear even with prolonged usage. The same material is also found at the band part of the headphones.

The physical headphones can be folded over to the inside for easy storage but still retains most of its compactness. They are made of glossy plastic that are very much fingerprint-prone – like all other over-ear phones along its line – hence Monster has supplied a microfiber cloth inside the box just for that purpose. The Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio headphones come in glossy black and white colors, and the black headphone seems to be the more fingerprint prone of the two.

The sound of the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio is more inclined towards an all-around flat response as opposed to Solo HD that bends towards the bass. Despite that, the Beats Studio still gives out quality high definition bass.

Overall, Beats by Dr. Dre Studio headphones are sleek, comfortable and have very constructive and valuable features but they also have their own drawbacks. As with other Monster Beats headphones, they come in a bit pricey and one would really be willing to invest on high quality listening experience for choosing Beats Studio.
