Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus Price in Singapore, Tech Specs, and Other Features

Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus Price in Singapore, Tech Specs, and Other Features: Google continues its pattern of launching a new Nexus phone with every major version of Android by announcing Galaxy Nexus, a successor to the Nexus S. The Galaxy Nexus, or Samsung GT-I9250, is the first smartphone to run Android version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).
Android ICS offers an improved user interface, and new integrated apps like Google+ and Google Talk with Video. The latest Android OS also has upgraded imaging capabilities with Zero Shutter Lag, Panorama mode, and built-in editing apps for images and videos. One interesting camera feature, called Face Unlock, uses facial recognition technology to unlock the phone. Android ICS also offers data usage management that users could use to set limits on the amount of data apps could use. This would help avoid bill shock for people who stream and download a lot of media.

On the hardware side, the Google Galaxy Nexus sports the latest, if not the bleeding-edge, in mobile device technologies. The first thing a person will notice is the gorgeous 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display. Super AMOLED HD is a bright, power-saving display technology that offers high-resolution imagery.
For the Galaxy Nexus, the display has 1280 by 720 pixels. It has a pixel density of 316ppi (pixels per inch) that rivals the display quality of the Retina display found on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, which has 326ppi. That difference of 10ppi wouldn’t, if ever, be as noticeable as the 1.15 inches difference in display size.
The Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a 1.2 GHz dual-core Arm Cortex A9 Texas Instruments processor, 1 GB of RAM for quick processing and may come with either 16GB or 32GB for internal storage. The internal storage would have to do since the Galaxy Nexus doesn’t come with a micro SD slot for external memory.
The phone is equipped with a 5-megapixel, rear-facing, autofocus camera that can shoot videos in Full HD (1080p). It also has a 1.3-megapixel, front-facing camera for video chatting, using the Facial Unlock feature, or checking your hairdo. With Android ICS’s stabilized image zoom, Tap To Focus, and Panoramic Mode features, capturing the perfect moment will be easier and much more fun with the Google Galaxy Nexus.

The Galaxy Nexus improves one’s mobility with its wireless connectivity options. Unlike the iPhone 4S, this supports “4G” LTE networks. Theoretically, the Galaxy Nexus could download and stream data at a blazingly fast 21 Mbps. The phone also supports quad-band GSM and HSDPA. In the absence of cellular networks, the phone could also connect to 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi networks. Browsing from your computer to the Galaxy Nexus is more seamless with the phone’s ability to synchronize with Google Chrome browser on your PC. There’s no more need to manually set your bookmarks on the phone. The Galaxy Nexus has NFC for electronic payments. Bluetooth v3.0 is also available but HS (high-speed) is not supported.
Like most devices, the Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a plurality of sensors that enable it to sense its surroundings. It comes equipped with the usual a-GPS for navigation, proximity sensor, compass, 3-axis gyroscope and an accelerometer. What’s new with this phone is the barometer, which measures atmospheric pressure. The barometer would most likely be used to improve location services by checking the pressure for estimating the altitude. With the number of sensors available on the phone, the challenge is now on the developers on how to use the sensors in new and innovative ways.
As a showcase phone for Google’s latest installment of Android, the Galaxy Nexus has been well designed and well equipped for its purpose. The advances in software and hardware demonstrated by the Galaxy Nexus shows a bright future for the Android line.
